Project summary
UForest approached our studio to create a 2D animation video aimed at illustrating their vision of converting grey cities into green urban forests amid rapid urbanization across Europe. Need
UForest aimed to address an urgent problem: the adverse impact of rapid urbanization in Europe. Their vision was to catalyze the green revolution, but they faced significant challenges such as the lack of proper educational infrastructure, high costs, and limited civic engagement. They needed a compelling narrative to showcase their mission and the potential benefits of urban forests.
Solution
We crafted an engaging 2D animation that visually communicates UForest’s mission and process. Through meticulously designed scenes, we translated the complex concept of urban reforestation into an understandable narrative. UForest could effectively advocate for a greener urban future and inspire collective action.

Sketches
By illustrating congested urban spaces, lush urban landscapes, and a diverse set of characters, we were able to establish a clear vision for the project, thus laying a strong foundation for subsequent production stages.
Storyboard
We meticulously developed a storyboard that encapsulates UForest’s mission. Each image depicted the transformative impact of urban forests on city life, setting the stage for the animation process and ensuring UForest’s needs were accurately represented.
Colors
We began with dull, grey hues to depict the challenges related to urbanization, then transitioned to vibrant greens to symbolize UForest’s solutions. This shift in the color palette emphasizes the transformation from a drab urban landscape to a flourishing, environmentally friendly city, highlighting UForest’s positive impact.
Illustrations
Through original illustrations, we translated UForest’s vision into an easily comprehensible visual narrative. We designed expressive characters and detailed environments that resonated with viewers, enabling them to envision the possibility of a greener future.
